Clarifiers
Should I use
a UV Clarifier to control algae?
You can use ultraviolet light to control floating
algae, by pumping water through a tube containing a UV light source. UV
light at the appropriate wavelength and exposure actually damages the DNA of
algae cells, preventing them from reproducing effectively. Since individual
cells typically only live a few days, they die off by themselves without
reproducing, so the water clears. HOWEVER, the use of UV light to control
algae can mask an underlying problem. If you have too many nutrients in the
water and not enough plants to consume them, you WILL get string algae
instead, which, since it doesn’t float, won’t be affected by the UV light.
UV is most effective when used for those spring or Indian summer algae
blooms when the other plants in the water garden are dormant. |

SMARTUV performance
Competing UV brands supply little if any technical information
while over rating their UVs by as much as five times their true capacity!
In contrast, our SMARTUV performance recommendations are conservative and
based on “green water” conditions that may exist during SMARTUV
installation. Our technical information follows established guidelines
demonstrated in the EPA Design Manual for Municipal Waste Water
Disinfection and has yet to be challenged by any competitor. Compare our
quality, product features, technical information, and customer service
with any competing UV Sterilizer brand; you’ll soon see why our SMARTUV
Sterilizers are your best choice! |

“Protected"
Remote Power Supply
All models feature a remote power supply that is positioned
on the cord, watertight and located away from the UV body,
protecting them from potential quartz sleeve leaks and water
damage. 12, 15, 18, 25 Watt models feature a 26 foot power cord;
40 Watt models and larger feature a 16 foot power cord. |

GPH/T5
& GPH/T6 UV lamps
Our long lasting GPH/T5 style UV lamps & GPH/T6 high
output UV lamps offer 9,000 hours (13 months) of continual
operation until reaching their end of useful life (60%
efficient). |
 |
Easy
to Remove Power Assembly
Allows both the quartz sleeve and UV lamp to be removed
together (without quartz sleeve / rubber gasket disassembly), or
by removing the assemblies jamb nut, the UV lamp can be replaced
without interrupting the flow of water through the unit. |
|
|
SMARTUV
Sterilizer, our flagship line of UV Sterilizers feature a 3" diameter
body, maximizing UV lamp output efficiency. Each model is constructed of
heavy-wall, durable “UV resistant” plastic. The commercial design of
our SMARTUVs makes them ideally suited for contractors looking for
durability and easy servicing. Standard features include easy-to-remove
power assembly, remote power supply and GPH/T5 style long lasting UV lamps
(13 month useful lamp life). All models are UL and cUL listed.

“Green
Water” Flow Rates
Why are our water flow rates so much lower than each of our
competitors? Unlike our competitors who over rate their UVs, our water
flow recommendations are based on turbid “green water” conditions
that may exist during installation. Maximum flow rate represents the
lamp performance at 100%, suggested flow rate represents lamp
performance at the end of useful life (60% efficient).

Ultraviolet Sterilization is a proven, dependable and effective method for
controlling and eradicating algae spores, bacteria and protozoa present in the
water source. Ultraviolet alters or disrupts the DNA and RNA of target
organisms. By properly implementing an Aqua Ultraviolet Sterilization system
in-line, the targeted organisms can be eradicated effectively with out any
harmful residuals. Aqua’s patented slim line lamps last an industry high of up
to 14 months of continuous operation, no other lamp on the market lasts as long.
These lamps have a 99.9% effective kill rate. Aqua manufactures it’s own lamps for assurance
of quality and longevity and their UV stabilized housings carry a lifetime
warranty.
When selecting an Aqua Ultraviolet UV light, follow the
columns labeled ‘Clarifier’ if your purpose is to eliminate green water from
your pond. If you intend to also eradicate floating bacteria and protozoa in
your pond water then follow the columns labeled ‘Sterilizer’.

in place, the power supply must remain outside of the pond. Due to
possible seal failure, we recommend placing the SMARTUV Lite outside
the pond, hidden, using decorative stone, mulch or driftwood.
- Install

Sand Filters and Pre-Filters.
- Install
SMART UV Lites before Box Filters but always after a pump that is
equipped with a Pre-Filter!
- SMARTUV
Lites operate equally as efficient with aquarium applications, their
plastic construction resists damaged from saltwater applications.

Bioforce
- The Pressurized Filter System
- Bioforce is available as a biological filter or combined
with biological filter and UVC. With the UVC, clear water is guaranteed if
the correct size Bioforce is used.
- Water movement through the filter adds vital oxygen to
your pond.
- Water pumped in under pressure spins around the filter
chamber, the vortex action settling out heavier solids.
- Open-cell foam media traps dirt particles. It also
provides a home for friendly bacteria. These help to keep the water healthy.

CYPRIO Ultra-Violet Clarifiers
- High efficiency through high light emission and long life.
- The flow of water through the UVC created by the product design increases
efficiency by even exposure of the water to the UV light. It also removes air
locks.
- Quartz sleeve allows 87% of the UV rays to pass through it and penetrate
the water where it can work on algae. This is far higher than other materials
used. Cleaning and sealing is simple with only one open end to the tube.

Tetra Greenfree Ultraviolet Clarifiers
The ultraviolet clarifier works by exposing single celled algae to
very high levels of ultraviolet light as the pond water containing
them is pumped through the unit. The ultraviolet radiation not only
kills the algae but causes it to clump together. These clumps can then
be easily removed by your pond filter, water clarity is dependent upon
the pond filter removing the dead algae.
Removes heavy algae blooms in most water gardens within 5 days.
Keeps the pond algae free.
